Item Description
Pair of 10.5x12.5" acetate sheets w/printed black art that have had portions hand-colored. Model sheet art for "Super Friends" Season 1, Episode 7 "Too Hot Too Handle" that first aired Oct. 20, 1973. Art features Golden Age Flash Jay Garrick alongside Modern Age Flash Barry Allen. Each model sheet features text including series title, characters ("Old And New 'Flash'"), episode title, as well as Hanna-Barbera copyright. Also of interest, art is noted to be by famed comic book artist Alex Toth. One sheet has been professionally matted and framed in 14.5x17". This sheet features full body images of both Flashes, seen from front and back, w/fronts being hand-painted. Exc. Other sheet features several close-up head shots of both characters, w/one of each being fully hand-painted. Another "Old Flash" image has had his iconic winged helmet hand-painted. Exc. When creating the model sheets, Alex Toth drew the wrong version of The Flash for the statue in the museum. Toth had been away from comics and actually drew the Golden Age version instead of Barry Allen, resulting in this interesting pair.
