Item Description
5" long by 5.25" tall hollow ceramic figure depicting winged Kewpie wearing "US" serviceman's hat while bursting from artillery shell w/"Hatched In The U.S.A." incised text on nose of shell. 1940s. Back end of shell has incised "Columbia Egg" name, obviously that of a company that supported the war effort. Nicely painted w/a few tiny scattered paint flakes. .25" flake off tip of shell. Fine overall. Rare and first we've seen in our 49 years. Eric Renner Collection.
