Item Description
Lot of six approx. 6.75x10-1/8" comic book backing boards and 8.5x11" cardstock print (w/sketches on back), each w/sketch of Superman from known comic book artist. All were obtained in-person at comic book conventions. Five are inked w/another in pencil. Artists include - Dick Giordano (1932-2010), who did fully realized and nicely done portrait of Superman w/"Best" inscription and additional "San Diego - 99" notation; Mike Bair, who added "999" date; Amanda Conner, who drew image of Lois Lane and Superman w/hearts around their heads, adding "Supes + Lois" inside heart as well as "98" date; a nice and fully rendered, near full body image from "Vampirella" artist Louis Small Jr., a chest up image by Tom Grummett, who added "San Diego - '97" notation. Larger item is X-Men "Cannonball" print w/nice pencil sketch of Superman from waist up by Superman artist Kerry Gammill w/additional small portrait pencil sketch of 1990s Superboy at top by Doug Hazelwood. Both have signed in ink, adding "'94" date and Superman's "S" symbol by Superboy image. Scattered lt. aging but Exc. overall. Franco Toscanini Collection.
