Item Description
Original and heavily worn mailer envelope w/two original cardboard inserts contains complete amount of six glossy 6.75x11" photos, each depicting a fully nude and un-retouched woman posing, breasts and genitals fully exposed. These photos were taken by noted naturist photographer Arundel Holmes Nicholls (1923-2008) sometime in the late 1910s into the 1920s but these prints were issued in the 1940s as evidenced by 1942 postmark on mailer envelope. Envelope has typed recipient name/address label and both sides and top edges have split. Envelope shows moderate aging/soiling and is just Good. Nicholls photos are featured in the archives of the Kinsey Institute and each photo has been blind-stamped "© Arundel Nicholls NY," the New York notation indicating later release. Backs of each also bear Nicholls' copyright stamp and individual photo number. Photos have aged and show lt. corner tip wear. One photo has 1/8" area (not on model) that has been retouched, but o/w, photos areVF/Exc. Comes w/typed letter on Nicholls' letterhead noting photos were parts of at least four sets released. Letter notes "Natural Curiosity" regarding female genitalia, and goes on to discuss pubic hair (of which photo model exhibits none). Letter goes on to list costs and different photo categories and includes blank line for signature verifying sender is over 21 years of age. Line at bottom has been underlined in red pencil, noting tracking of photo purchases. Letter has horizontal fold at center as mailed and two small pencil marks at upper left. VF. Rare as a complete set and w/letter and envelope.
