Item Description
2.75x2.75" paper label features great image of Superman w/"Superman" comic book title logo above him and "Broadcast 5 Days Weekly Tune In - Presented By Skippy Peanut Butter - See Local Newspaper For Time." Label also lists California radio station call letters - KYA San Francisco, KECA Los Angeles and KARM Fresno. c. 1942, the same year Skippy issued the rare Superman overseas cap (see previous item #2155). Label is missing two small spots of 1/8" surface paper above/below KECA call letters. Additional tiny spot of missing surface paper from the "P" of "Superman." Trace of adhesive staining on reverse as a special label applied to peanut butter jar. Other trace of wear as removed, lt. trace of aging but overall still a clean appearance. Fine. Very rare, the only example we know of, this is the same example we sold in 2008 for $2,777. Franco Toscanini Collection.
