Item Description
By Ingraham, 1935. Box is 2.75x3x.75" deep. Lid features exceptional illustrations including different images on all side panels of Dr. Huer, Killer Kane, spaceships, etc. Tiniest traces of wear with slight dust soiling but box remains totally bright, exceptionally glossy, all corners are tight. VF. Complete with separate cardboard insert in black/gold with additional portraits of Buck, Wilma plus rocketship and rocket pistols. Insert is N. Mint. The box is rare and only the second box we've ever offered and the first time we've ever offered the insert. Also has small guarantee paper, lightly aged and Fine. The pocketwatch itself is 2" diameter with chromed metal case. Back of case has stamped image of Comet Man. Back of the case has scattered minute surface wear, mostly only visible in reflected light, some tiny traces of luster loss to the image but back retains 95% luster. Sides of the case show a bit more luster wear but still 70% remains. The choice color dial is extremely clean with vibrant color. The copper-colored lightning bolt hands have full luster. The tiny second hand has trace of luster loss only noticeable upon close inspection. Dial is as bright and clean as any we've ever seen. Overall case VF, dial has N. Mint appearance. A truly exceptional character timepiece. From the Russell Brown Sr. collection.
