Item Description
Pen and ink art with size of 2x2.75" including signature which is drawn and signed on 5.75x7" thin artboard. Schulz stated in interviews that he never drew himself but in fact he drew at least two for the National Cartoonists Society. This is one of the rare instances, a pen and ink head shot from 1965 with a smiling Snoopy at lower right. This art was also published in Rick Marshall's 1989-1997 "American Great Comic Strip Artists" book. 2.5x3" area at and below image and signature is very lightly tanned, otherwise Exc. Schulz's pencil sketch lines and framing guides are still evident. A classic image of the world's most famous cartoonist with his most famous character. Much scarcer than "Peanuts" Sunday and daily original art. From the collection of noted comics historian Richard Marschall.
