Item Description
11.75x15.75" artboard w/pen and ink original art by José Luis García-López, whose long-running relationship w/DC Comics helped shape the style of the publishing company's comic books during the 1980s. During his exclusive contract w/DC, he has been responsible of penciling the style guides used by the company to provide official artwork for merchandise licenses around the world. García-López illustrated the 1982 guide (still used today as part DC Comics' retro line), a 1992 guide focused on the "Batman Returns" movie, Superman-related guides from 1991, 1994 and 2006 as well as other DC Universe guides in 1998, 2004 and 2012. Art features three full body images of Hawkman - front, profile and back. He is depicted holding his mace flail weapon. Center image has space design bkg. Top center has "Hawkman" comic book title logo paste-over as well as Hawkman symbol paste-over at left while right is original art. Faint blue pencil editorial notation along top margin.
