Item Description
11.5x17.5" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for cover to Sept., 1973 issue of Marvel Comics' "Vault Of Evil." Main image area is on separate artboard section attached to main artboard at top/bottom. No art is visible on main artboard. Attached artboard has original pen and ink art by Rich Buckler, showing man and woman in speeding convertible reacting w/horror. The reason for this reaction is visible on attached 7x11" cut acetate sheet w/inked image of angry ghost, which when put in place, gives the appearance of the ghost emerging from the car's hood. This acetate sheet is marked "Red Plate" and done so that printer could utilize a wonderful ghost image of the finished cover. Part of woman's arm is paste-over (w/original art), some aging to area beside this from changed position. Handwritten editorial notes at top. Main art has paste-over word balloon. Title and publishing indica are also paste-overs. Scattered aging, mainly to tape at top corners and along right margin, but art remains clean and displays VF.
