Item Description
10x27x3" deep presentation box covered w/leather-like material opens to reveal 5x7.75" window w/print of Alex Ross's art designs for Superman as he appeared in the acclaimed 1996 mini-series "Kingdom Come" that Ross created w/writer Mark Waid. Print has been signed in pencil by Ross and is hand-numbered "569 Of 750." Presentation box also contains three recessed boxes, each lined w/die-cut foam and containing 6.75" tall figures for a DC Direct "Kingdom Come" Superman action figure sculpted by Tim Bruckner. First is "Replica Sculpture" in cream resin. Second is "Test Shot" in dark blue PVC. Third is "Paint Variant" production figure. All have tags around their legs w/production stage name and each has been individually hand-numbered "569 Of 750." Set comes w/small booklet detailing making of action figure process and matching numbered COA signed by Bruckner. Aside from "Replica Sculpture" (which has tip of cape broken off), contents are NM. Ross personally visited Franco Toscanini's collection and was so taken w/it that he further customized this set, boldly signing across the front in silver paint pen, his signature measuring 15.5" wide. Added to this is an original profile sketch of Superman in silver paint pen. One-of-a-kind custom piece. Exc. Franco Toscanini Collection.
