Item Description
8x14". This four page flyer was produced by the Weatherman after they helped smuggle Leary to Algeria after his escape from prison in 1970. Largest text on cover reads "Timothy Leary From The Underground" and features a graphic of a guitar, rifle and pipe reading "To Love We Must Fight". The pages contain a long rambling manifesto on freedom written by Leary and referencing the likes of John F. Kennedy, Malcolm X, Huey Newton, Angela Davis and others. Also included is a mask of Leary's face. These were supposed to be worn by supporters as an act of solidarity to ironically foil police efforts to find Leary. Flyer is folded at center but otherwise bright and clean with only minor handling wear. Exc. Mask is unused and retains original elastic string. NM. Milo Pyne Collection.
