12.25x15" pressbook w/30 pages and separate supplement. Issued for the original 1960 release of Alfred Hitchcock's classic horror film "Psycho." Hitchcock's name and large "Psycho" title dominate cover and pressbook contains a plethora of promotional items including photos of theater marquees and lobbies, promotional articles w/photos of the film's stars as well as film scenes, an advertisement for a movie edition of Robert Bloch's famous novel that the film was based on, heralds, radio spots, a two-page spread for a large poster that could be assembled piece-by-piece, a large array of advertising focused on Hitchcock's insistence that "You Must See It From The Beginning!" Pressbook showcases ad mats (many of which feature photo images of Hitchcock himself), review ads, theater ads, banners, posters, lobby cards, etc. Moderate pinch creases to spine w/scattered dust soiling to covers. Fine overall w/VF interior pages. Pressbook comes w/18-page supplement w/large Hitchcock photo on cover. Supplement features letter from Hitchcock as well as a number of photos, facsimile telegrams from theater owners, ad mats, Hitchcock's personal advice for showing the film, images of theaters, an ad for a "Hitchcock Speaks" record warning theater-goers not to divulge the film's ending, etc. A few pinch creases to spine. VF overall.
