Item Description
Lot of five sheets of animation paper, including some single panel storyboard sheets trimmed to 5x6" up to full 10x12" sheets. Each features original lead pencil (w/additional colored pencil accents) art. c. 1936-1937 and early in the production of "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs," showing the progression of Dopey as a character, including some early concepts. First sheet features storyboard of Dopey being hit by another Dwarf w/a large hammer, causing Dopey to get caught up in spinning propeller-like board. Caption at bottom in pencil. Second sheet shows storyboard of Dopey using rock to crack open nut or gem. Next sheet shows storyboard of him in classic "The Thinker" pose. Last two full sheets show concept art of Dopey getting caught up in what appears to be a spinning cogwheel. Both of these sheets have red pencil sequence numbers (3062, 3066) beside tiny "Copyright Walt Disney Productions - All Rights Reserved" inkstamp at bottom. Sheet shows scattered lt. wear/aging w/some pin holes at corners but art remains Exc.
