7.50” X 10.50” X 1.50” deep box contains six different 7.25” X 10” puzzles by Saalfield copyright 1940. Boxed set #1515. Box has moderate scattered aging/dust soiling, corner tip wear with tight corners. Right hand side panel has a 1.50” tear which has a tape repair and a ½” surface paper lift due to tape also has ¼” dent near top corner. Left hand side panel has a 1.50” tear with tape repair and a 1.50” crease at corner with a 1/8” tear. Box tray has afore mentioned tape, with tape repair to split at upper right hand corner. Box is FN. Each puzzle features choice action scene art. Of the six complete puzzles we show here, puzzle with Superman catching falling columns, two pieces are missing and have been replaced with expertly crafted replacements. Superman racing train puzzle has one missing piece which has also been expertly replaced. Puzzles have scattered small and light traces of aging. Puzzles have some light wear with a few pieces having cracks/creases which do not greatly detract from images. Superman punching plane puzzle has a ½” area of moisture staining at wing which blends somewhat. Overall set is VF/Exc. Rare and the nicest of the Saalfield puzzles.
