9.75x19.25x1.5" deep box contains complete parts for Milton Bradley game #4842, ©1940 Superman Inc. This is the first and rarest of the early Superman board games. Lid features great illustration of Superman stopping an oncoming airplane, side panels feature additional solo Superman images as well as inset action scenes. Lid shows wear w/one corner split, surface paper wear and flakes along edges/corners. Box retains strong color and is VG/Fine overall. Matched pair of box inserts w/classic full figure Superman image. These are lightly aged but o/w Exc. 18.5x18.5" gameboard features similar but different/more detailed images as the Speed Game board (see item #2562). Surface paper is bright and clean w/a few color rubs but remains glossy. VF/Exc. Comes w/separate small instruction folder, aged but VF. Other parts are different sized and colored wood playing pieces representing "Clark Kent The Reporter/Superman Cloaks." Playing pieces are Exc. Rare. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
