8.25x11.75" softcover programme for the European Royal Charity Premiere of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, which took place at in London at the Odeon Leicester Square May 20, 1980. HRH Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon was in attendance and the premiere was used to raise funds for three charities - The Variety Club of Great Britain, The Invalid Childrens Aid Association and The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Lucasfilm went all out for this premiere, flying Stormtroopers out to the UK and parading them about in Jeeps to promote "Empire Day," a nod to a former British holiday. Progamme features typical sponsor advertisements as well as ads for the Empire Strikes Back soundtrack, cast and crew pages and features a full-page advertisement for the Palitoy Star Wars toys, spotlighting Boba Fett. Programme shows scattered handling wear and aging, w/pinch creases to spine, but still Fine overall. Rare and highly sought after European exclusive. Ross Pender Bounty Hunter Collection.
