6 x8.5/9". c. 1930-1931. 2pc. pamphlet collection relating to the unjust conviction & betrayal by labor leaders of Tom Mooney. Convicted of murder for the July 1916 San Francisco Preparedness Day Bombings, his conviction was widely speculated to be, as the pamphlets state, the "foulest conspiracy ever." Mooney's activism in pro-labor circles circumvented his ironclad alibi & the perjured testimony of witnesses & led to his conviction. Age progressed jugate portraits of Mooney lined by chains under "PARDON/TOM MOONEY-INNOCENT", similar portrait on corresponding pamphlet. "Labor Leaders", heavily toned newsprint w/some losses & spine separation, 50 pgs. "PARDON" is richly illustrated w/photographs and overwhelming evidence of Mooney's innocence, 31 pgs. VG to Fine. Essential ephemera related to government "frame-up."
