Kit No. 461-98. ©1963 Universal Pictures Co., Inc. This is an original first issue box. The model was based on the Lon Chaney 1923 silent movie. James Bama based the box art on the 1956 remake of the movie. Production of the original issue of the Hunchback box was halted in 1965 after objections were raised by actor Anthony Quinn, who complained the box art bore a definite likeness to his portrayal of the character in the 1956 film. The art was later replaced w/modified art featuring the Hunchback w/shaggier hair (see other lot in this auction for second issue box). Model kit was not modified but later instruction sheet art was. Box has been opened. Box lid has lt. aging and some corner tip/edge wear and remains tight. Box bottom is solid as factory taped. Exc. Kit molded in tan plastic and is complete as inventoried. Many pieces remain on sprues also includes lightly aged original instructions and Famous Monsters magazine offer. Pieces display Exc.

Accepted payment methods are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, check, money order and we will also accept payment by wire transfer. PayPal is not an accepted method of payment. A 3% fee will be added to all credit card payments. Please be advised if your invoice is under $5,000, your credit card on file will be charged on the 15th day following the close of the auction. If you wish to pay via check, money order or a wire payment must be received prior to that date.
We ship in the order paid—first in, first out. Thus, we begin charging orders as instructed by customers immediately following the close of the auction and continue to fill orders as they are paid.

Doing so after the close of the auction may result in a package not being delivered to the correct address. It is the bidder's responsibility to make sure their mailing and shipping address is updated. Without exception, all special requests for “Rush Delivery” will incur a charge of $50.00 plus any additional shipping fee associated with the expedited shipment. Overall, our goal is to ship all orders within 15 business days of payment. Allow four weeks from the day you send payment before calling to check on the status of your order.
