Item Description
Cardboard box is 1” deep by 2.75x4” long. Has original mailing label from the maker of Palmolive Soap “Colgate-Palmolive-Peet Co.” with Jersey City address. Couple of tiny paper dots off the mailing label and upper side edge of the carton has a slight horizontal crease its full length but all other panels of the carton are quite clean including the small tabs which lock the end flaps into place. We believe this is our first original box for this ring. The large and scarce ring is from the early 50s and meant to be used with a battery which is not present but which would cause Howdy’s high relief plastic face to light up. While the brass finish on the base is somewhat dark, the surfaces are clean and Clarabell is easily seen depicted on both sides. The contact wire for the battery is present and Howdy’s high relief plastic head has about 98% accented paint on the molded pink plastic. Brass loop which held the battery carries ring maker’s name “Brownie Mfg. Co.” Overall VF and the box is a rarity.
