Item Description
. Low farm prices during the Carter administration led to the organization of the “American Agricultural Movement” and their protest began in Dec. 1977 with what was known as the D.C. Tractorcade. These two buttons are from just a few years later with the one on the right having a 1979 copyright on the curl although both were certainly made in anticipation and to promote Carter’s defeat in 1980. The 3.5” button reads “I Wish I Was A Dog And Carter A Peanut Tree” while the 3” button showing a tractor pulling a disk plow reads “Plow Carter Under.” Both are essentially Mint as made. First we’ve seen.
