Item Description
2-3/8x3.5” on card stock. Typed information notes issued to Jack R. Kinney “Story” department issued January 1, 1936. Kinney, who was named a Disney legend in 1992, joined Disney in 1931 working first as an animator on the shorts. He was a sequence director on films such as Pinocchio and Dumbo and directed the classic Der Fuehrer’s Face. He first directed Goofy in Goofy’s Glider and soon became established as the director of the Goofy cartoons. He left Disney in 1959 to form his own animation company. Card design features Mickey Mouse image on the front above 2719 Hyperion, Hollywood address. Signed in ink by “A.G. Keener.” Card reverse, which was meant to be signed, has not been signed but does bear individual issue number of “98.” Moderate aging and trace of moisture staining along left and top edges. Few very minor handling crease lines at top center only visible upon close inspection. Overall still Fine. Rare, the first such card we’ve offered in our 43 years.
