Item Description
Pair of two posters issued by the Solid Fuels Administration For War in 1944. Both are folded as issued. First measures 18.25x26" and features wonderful image of a penguin shivering against the cold and snow as he holds coal shovel. Art is by Arens. Text reads "Don't Shiver Next Winter...Order Coal Now!" and small text at bottom reads "U.S. Government Printing Office: 1944-O-641974." Poster has lt. aging/wear at fold crease intersections and general handling wear but is VF overall. Next poster measures 20x28" and reads "Your Government Warns - Prepare For Winter Now! Take Dealer's Advice - Check Your Heating Plant - 'Winterize' Your Home" and shows pictures of coal truck, furnace and house. Small text at bottom reads "U.S. Government Printing Office: 1944-O-594484." Poster has lt. wear at fold crease intersections including a 1" tear and some scattered aging/handling wear. VF.
