Item Description
27.5" long felt (to end of tassles). The Spider was created by pulp author Reginald Thomas Maitland Scott in the 1930s and was also featured in Columbia movie serials including "The Spider’s Web" and "The Spider Returns." This is for The Spider's first serial, 1938's "The Spider's Web" and features a strong graphic image of a spider w/web and logo in white printed on green felt. The four tassels are intact. Pennant also notes the abbreviation "CPC" for Columbia Pictures Corporation on front. Some wear is visible on the pennant surface, but shows little wear to the silk-screening that is typically worn or cracked on most vintage pennants. Tiny pennant tip missing and a small .25" insect hole in the upper right corner that does not distract from the general appearance. Fine. Only example we've seen in our 46 years.
