Item Description
Each is approx. 3-3/8x5-3/8" c. early 1900s. Scenes include well dressed woman walking with well dressed man titled on front "The First Harem Skirt On B'd'wk. - H.B. Smith Photo" postmarked Atlantic City 1911 on reverse, hockey team titled "N.E. Hockey Tourney At Nelson - 1910 The Hawkes Bay Team", two women wearing dresses with numerous attached spoons, Salvation Army relief wagon, women with "The Princess Mary Caravan/The Girls Friendly Society" English card, girls and women with several wearing costumes and holding signs including "Faith-Love-Man-Matrimony-Hope", three heavy women sitting on log with one smoking cigarette, and woman in ornate costume including leather pants and high heels holding cigarette. Makers include Azo, Velox, Montague Cooper. Atlantic City card is postally used with faint hairline creases at right corner tips mostly just visible in reflected light. VG/Fine. Rest of group is Fine/VF. Wonderful images of women making their mark in society. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
