Item Description
Lot of 9 issues of the important jazz magazine of the 1940s. Much content relates to New Orleans and Chicago jazz musicians. Each issue is filled with great articles and ads for records and record shops. Issues include numbers 15, 25, 30-32, 39, 41, 51-52 published between Dec., 1943 and Feb., 1947. Great covers featuring notable jazz musicians of the time including Lester Young and Louis Armstrong among others. All issues but last measure 6x9.25”, last issue measures 5-3/8x8-1/8”. Varying degrees of handling wear with pinch creases at spines. VF overall. Nice group. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
