Item Description
13.25x13.25" paper envelope/sleeve contains die-cut cardboard "Know Your Planes Plane-O-Graph" dial featuring "U.S. Army Planes And Squadron Insignias In Full Color" produced by Plane Facts, Inc. 1942. Envelope lists that images were "Drawn From Official United States Army Photographs" and notes warplanes include "Official United States Army Fighters, Light And Heavy Bombers And Transports." Envelope/sleeve shows handling/corner tip wear and is Fine/VF overall. Dial consists of two die-cut wheels held together w/rivet at center. When top wheel is spun, die-cut opening reveals different warplane illustration along w/in-flight silhouette. Top wheel also lists the names of some featured planes, including P-51 Mustang, B-17 Flying Fortress, P-40 Tomahawk, P-38 Lightning, P-39 Airacobra and others. Underside of bottom wheel features 20 different squadron insignias surrounding large Army Air Corps star (which has two spots of surface paper lift). Wheel handles have creases, but Plane-O-Graph is o/w VF. Mark Treitel Collection.
