Item Description
DC Comics. Published in 1945 by the Juvenile Group Foundation. Fred Ray cover art from 1942 issue of Superman #14 used for front and back cover of this rare edition minus the price, issue number and publication month. As for CGC conservation note, this is designated as spine splits sealed to cover. White pages. CGC "Conserved" grade is defined as repairs done using only rice paper, wheat glue, vintage staples and archival tape. Any other materials would change classification to "Restored". This 68 page book contains two previously issued Superman stories in bw and was designed to improve reading and writing skills of WWII draftees with limited education. Book contains pre-testing, stories and additional testing repeating some of the panels of each story. Very few examples are known to exist making this a particularly desirable issue to obtain. CGC Census shows 62 graded copies of "Action #1" and only three copies of "The Superman Work Book." Franco Toscanini Collection.
