Item Description
3-7/8x6-3/8x1-3/8" deep illustrated cardboard box w/die-cut window once held package of popcorn treat similar to Cracker Jack. Willard's Chocolate Company of Toronto, Canada. © National Comics Publications, Inc. Early 1950s. In addition to popcorn treat, box is marked "Prize Inside" and backside notes that full figure Superman image of front/back main panels was "Extra Premium" and "For Realistic Superman - Cut Out Both Figures, Paste Together And Attach String For Hanging In Your Room." As designed, most of these boxes were cut apart for this "Extra Premium," making this rare box one of just two known complete examples. Box has some handling wear w/some corner creasing and has even moderate aging w/a few tiny spots of staining on Superman's "S" symbol and by his arm on backside. Still Fine overall and rare. Franco Toscanini Collection.
