Item Description
3.5x8" decal sheet features four (three different poses) full body decals of Superman. One design is classic hands-on-hips pose while other two show him breaking chains and flying. Additionally, there are four decals of Ogilvie cereal boxes (one featuring small image of Superman on front) and "Superman Says... - If It's 'Ogilvie" - It's Good!" text decal. Released by Canadian Ogilvie Cereal Co. in the early 1940s. This company also released a rare Superman premium badge. This decal sheet was likely issued as a box insert premium as well as a mail-away premium as noted by envelope included w/decal sheet. Decal sheet has even aging and is unused w/original protective sheet on top adhered to decal sheet. Despite this adhesion, decals remain complete and VF overall. Envelope has "Superman" return address and bears Canadian postal stamp. Original recipient name/address have been scratched off, leaving surface paper roughness at this area. Left side of envelope has been opened, resulting in missing left flap. Rest is complete. VG. In our Nov. 2013 auction, we offered an Ogilvie decal sheet for the first time in our 48 years, where it sold for $3,162 (w/o envelope). That sale brought this previously unknown example to the market.
