Item Description
11.25x18.5" die-cut display card originally contained one dozen 2-1/8" dia. pinback buttons, each featuring the iconic golden funerary mask of King Tutankhamun, better known as King Tut. Display now holds three examples. Buttons were done in black and metallic gold. Buttons are marked "N.G. Slater Corp. NYC 11" w/union bug on curl. Slater was a major New York City button company at the time of these buttons' production, which likely coincided w/the 1976-1979 "The Treasures Of Tutankhamun" exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Display has easel back and label at top front reads "King Tut Buttons - Egyptian Mummy - Historical Memento" and has unused area for pricing. Label has a few small spots of staining but overall, display is Exc., as are buttons.
