Item Description
5.5x9.5" thin card stock. For July 26, 1942 double header at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Front cover features full figure image of Satchel Paige in his Monarchs uniform. Inside two panels filled out in pencil. Printed team member names include: Paige, Newt Allen, "Willie" Willard Brown, Buck O'Neil, Hilton Smith. Back cover photos are of Red Sox players Verdel Mathis and Olan "Jelly" Taylor. In 1942 the Monarchs would go on to win the Negro League World Series over the Homestead Grays. Horizontal crease at center. Inside spine has 1" and 3" pieces of archival tape strips where spine was split. Moderate aging and margin wear w/a few small tears and tiny tip off top left corner. VG. A rare Negro League score card further enhanced by the great cover photo of HOFer Paige.
