Item Description
Lot of three items signed by members of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball Team team the Grand Rapids Chicks. Lot includes 16.25" long wooden baseball bat w/imprinted team name. Bat is signed by 14 players in blue ink. Vintage signatures include - "Rea" Barney, Lorraine Fisher, Alice Haylett, Tex Lessing, Dot Satterfield, Lefty Voyce, Millie Earp, Caity Olinger, Pepper Paire, Betty Petrina, Gig Smith, Connie Wisniewiski, Ziggy Ziegler, Barbara Sowers. Bat has adhesive tape on handle added long ago. All signatures remain strong, bat is Fine overall. This team was based in Grand Rapids, MI. and played in the A-AGPBL 1945-1954, winning championships in 1947 and 1953. Players of the Year included Wisniewiski in 1945 and Ziegler in 1950. League pitching titles were won by the Chicks in 1944/1945 w/Wisniewiski and Earp in 1947, Haylett in 1948, and Ziegler in 1950. All have signed this bat. Lot also includes 3x5" unlined index card that has been signed in blue felt tip pen by Haylett, who adds her "Al" nickname as well as "Grand Rapids 'Chicks'" team name, "1946-1949" playing dates and "9/11/03" signature date. NM. Last item in lot is 2.5x3.5" A-AGPBL Fritsch 1995 baseball card #154 for Ernestine "Teeny" Petras, who has signed card front in blue ink, adding "Hall Of Fame 88" inscription. NM. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
