Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains 5.75" tall all celluloid wind-up toy made in Germany by Rheinische Gummi Und Celluloid Fabrik Co. c. 1930. Toy comes w/key, works and heavy gauge celluloid arms and ears move freely as Mickey moves about, causing his spring tail to wiggle. Interesting to note that this toy was produced depicting Mickey w/five fingers on his hands as opposed to the more commonly found versions w/four fingers. This is variety w/lt. pink pants and red buttons. Underside of pants (between legs) has partial small Walter E. Disney copyright label. Toy has some scattered dust soiling and aging w/slight fade to front of pants. Die-cut slots for ears remain free of cracks. Toy still displays Fine overall. Box lid label shows Mickey and lists toy as "Nr. 7052" as well as listing "Made In Germany" and showing company turtle trademark. Lid has 7/8" side panel tear and creasing to lid label w/1" area having slight surface paper break. This doesn't greatly detract from Mickey image or text. Box remains tight and Fine. Toy is rare and box is very rare. This is the only boxed example we've offered in our 47 years. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
