Item Description
In 1965, Monogram began releasing a series of three models in the "Fred Flypogger" series. These model kits featured a central character - Fred Flypogger - in different outfits, each retaining the classic 1960s Hot Rod and surf creature theme. Flypogger was the creation of noted 1960s concert poster artist Stanley Mouse (see "Art Of Rock" book signed/sketched by Mouse, #2615) in a style similar to that of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's characters. While each of the three kits is scarce, "Super Fuzz!" is harder to track down. Offered here is an original factory-built display model of "Super Fuzz!" issued directly by Monogram to stores for promotional purposes. Model has been professionally assembled and wonderfully detailed. Flypogger is seen seated in a "Fuzz" Hot Rod, the steering wheel broken off in his hand (as designed), the other hand hoisting a spiked club. A handcuffed hand can be seen reaching up from the smoke trailing behind the vehicle and a cartoon fly rests on rear tire. A small mouse figure (a tribute to Stanley Mouse) can be seen running alongside. Complete assembled example. Exc. and an exceptional display piece. These store display models are rare.
