Item Description
8" tall tin litho w/built-in key on back. Among the earliest Disney wind-ups. Made in Germany, c. 1930. Toy works and shakes about as it walks forward. The separate die-cut tin ears are professional replacements by Joe Freeman of Tin Toy Works. Missing original rubber tail. Toy has obvious paint wear (most evident on white portion of face and on front of red pants) w/scattered traces of surface oxidation (most evident on toy's right foot). Pair of .25" hairline cracks in the metal between Mickey's eyes where the two halves of the figure join together w/some oxidation. Some scattered paint scuffs/chips to mouth/nose area and button area on pants. VG overall. One of the rarest Mickey Mouse wind-up tin toys, w/only a few known examples. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
