Item Description
7x22" thin artboard has Bob Montana pen and ink art for April 10, 1950 daily strip w/four panels. Storyline has Archie and Jughead w/Archie's horse outside "Red Riding Club." Archie goes inside to inquire about becoming a member where he runs into Veronica's father, Mr. Lodge, who tricks him into entering a horse race. Archie is featured in all four panels. Art is signed in ink by Archie creator Montana in last panel. Complete w/syndicate copyright sticker in second panel. Upper margin has date penciled twice and bottom margin has some staining from glue, which infringes into bottom .5" of art areas. Still a Fine, prime early example.
