Originally done c. 1981 as an Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide cover proposal for the 12th edition but ultimately not used. Now, over 30 years later, it finally saw print as the cover to the 2013 "The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comics #1 DC Heroes Edition." 12x17-5/8" artboard has acrylic painting w/characters on stage in spotlight. Included are Black Canary, Superman, Batman, Tomahawk, Green Arrow, Vigilante, Golden Age Red Tornado (Ma Hunkel), Golden Age Robotman, Fennimore Frog, Peter Porkchops, Flippity Frog, Sugar and Spike. Sign at lower right has pencil text "12th Edition Spotlighting The Golden Age Of D.C." Lower left has "Newton" signature. Exc. Comes w/matching, same size printer's proof sheet which has different text on sign. Proof has a few scratches as printed. VF.
