Item Description
First is 5-5/8x8-3.8" herald for original 1943 release of the first Batman movie serial, Columbia's self-titled "Batman" that starred Lewis Wilson as Batman and Douglas Croft as Robin. Front features classic 1940s comic book image of Batman and Robin as well as "Batman" comic book logo of the period. Inside features ads for other movies, including "My Friend Flicka, The Invisible Woman" and "Yankee Doodle Dandy." Herald has been folded slightly off-center as issued w/three addition horizontal fold lines. Fine overall and the example shown on page 29 of Chip Kidd's "Batman Collected" book. Comes w/10-7/8x14" lobby card for 1960s reissue of Columbia's 1949 "Batman And Robin" serial. Card is for Spanish market and features inset bw photo from serial showing Robert Lowery as Batman and Johnny Duncan as Robin. Additional 1960s style comic art graces card. Margins show moderate wear w/small chips along left and numerous staple holes. Upper right corner has .5" sliver off. VG.
