Item Description
8-1/8x10.5" wooden base w/polished marble slab on top of that rests heavy solid bronze statue sculpted by Clayburn Moore of Bowen Studios based on a design by Mark Schultz. This is one of a limited edition of just 50 produced in 1994. An additional 500 were produced in cold cast resin and in full color. This version has Moore's incised signature and low "6/50" edition number on back bottom edge. Based on Schultz's comic book set in a post-apocalyptic future in which the Earth has been ravaged by pollution and natural disasters. Escaping, humanity built vast underground cities in which they lived for hundreds of years. Upon emerging, the humans found that the world had been reclaimed by previously extinct lifeforms (most spectacularly, dinosaurs). In the new Xenozoic era, technology is extremely limited and those w/mechanical skills command a great deal of respect and influence. The two chief protagonists of the series are mechanic Jack Tenrec and scientist/love interest Hannah Dundee, who is featured in the statue wearing gunbelt and laying against large sabre-tooth tiger. Statue has a nice patina. Marble portion of base has 1" hairline crack at front center w/.5" sliver missing but o/w statue is Mint as made.
