Item Description
6-7/8x22” thin art board for April 15, 1961 has 5-7/8x20-5/8” India ink image area w/three panels. First panel has Bura driving a tank through jungle to see his Wambesi tribe. Panel two has the Phantom on his horse w/Devil nearby following the tank. Panel three shows jungle village destination. Third panel has artist “Wilson McCoy” ink signature and date along w/King Features copyright sticker. Upper right blank corner has ink strip sequence number “42”. All three panels have usual applied zipatone dot pattern for shading which has tanned w/age, image area otherwise clean and VF. A well drawn example by McCoy, who took over the strip from Ray Moore in WWII. McCoy passed away just a few months after this strip was published.
