Item Description
6.25x12.5" plastic production casing-covered bagatelle w/working mechanism and five marbles to show how toy would work. Playing field has been hand-painted by Marx factory artist and shows portraits of Dick Tracy, Tess Trueheart, Liz, Sam Catchem, Chief Patton, Junior and Bonnie Braids and well as small image at top of car shining Dick Tracy light above "Dick Tracy" name at top center. Another car image is seen where marbles are launched. Marx logo has been cut out and applied to board after painting. "Y-1903" text on aluminum back in grease pencil. 1960s. Prototype shows lt. wear w/tape melt mark at top center, but VF overall. From the John Bowers Collection.
