Item Description
7.5x13.5x8.5" tall toy comes in original cardboard box which features image of toy on front/back panels. Made by Saunders Tool & Dye Co. c. 1950s. Box has cut tape seal and remnants of toy store label on top along w/moderate wear/dust soiling including moisture warping along bottom half of box. Box remains structurally sound, complete w/all cardboard inserts. VG. Tractor is painted heavy gauge tin w/hard plastic robot figure and rubber treads. Has a number of decals including "Marvelous Mike Tractor" on each side of tractor body. Robot's chest has decal w/simulated gears. Detailed dashboard decal shows fuel/air gauges. Toy comes w/original instruction sheet which has heavy but even aging and scattered wear. VG. Instruction sheet notes that this is "The First Completely Automatic, Electrically Powered, Self Contained Toy." Toy travels around w/bump-and-go action as the robot shifts gears. Treads remain totally pliable and intact. Underside of baseplate shows some surface oxidation but this in no way affects the outside appearance of the toy. Some flaking to the "On/Off" decal on top of tractor, but other decals remain complete w/some aging. Toy has a few nicks on hood and dozer blade but VF overall. Comes w/three original Olin brand batteries. A working, very displayable boxed example of this classic toy.
