Item Description
Two items. c. 1950s. First is sign design that was never produced promoting “ Free Of Extra Cost Holloween Mask With Every Package Of Flavor-Kist Cookies”. Halloween is misspelled as designed in two places. 16x20” vellum sheet has art and hand lettered text in lead and color pencil w/some white paint text. Upper right has boy and girl wearing masks, lower right has three sample cookie boxes w/mask on front. Two folds as stored, lt. aging. Bright and VG. Sample mask included is shown on middle box of sign art. Though intended as a premium for this company, the mask was actually issued by “Post’s Sugar Crisp”. Mask is 4.5x6.75x2" deep four-sided card stock sleeve that originally fit around cereal box. Mask extends on two short sides w/additional pieces on back, nose, ears, etc. Light aging but un-punched and unused. Exc. Great designs. Unique. Nice pair to frame together. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
