Lot of 81 from the classic 1938 Gum Inc. card set. Each is 2.5x3-1/8” w/choice art fronts and text backs, featuring much gruesome war imagery. Cards are: 24,26,43,48,50,52-54,57,59-61,66,68,69,72-76,79-82,84,85,88,89,91,93,95,97-112,114-116,117,119,120,122,124-128,131,133-135,137-139,141-144,146,150,152,153,156,163,164,166,168,171,254. Typical margin/corner tip wear and aging. Vast majority grade between VG/Exc. and Exc. with a small amount in the Good to VG range. A nice group to fill in missing numbers and/or get you started on collecting one of the most popular gum cards sets of all time. Cards come w/May 9, 1938 issue of Life magazine. This has a two-page article titled "Speaking Of Pictures...This Is Bubble Gum's War In China." Includes text on the cards w/example images of 12 cards including the text from card backs along w/photo of "Horrors" gum pack and boy blowing a bubble. VG. A great complement to the cards.
