Item Description
2x7" with three tiny 1/16" holes and about 15% tan age toning to blue fabric. Full text reads "Democratic Society, York, Pa. - Wright And Tilden. 'Thou Shalt Not Steal.'" "Wright" refers to successful 1876 Democratic candidate Hendrick B. Wright of the Wilkes-Barre area with the "York" reference apparently related to a Democratic party meeting in the city. Wright was re-elected in 1878 and switched to the Greenback Party becoming an 1880 hopeful for that party's nomination, but losing to Presidential nominee James Weaver.
