Item Description
12.5x13.25" thick art board has original art in oil and tempera paint with Joe reaching for pretty jewel thief as Humphrey cracks heads of gangsters in bkg. Art was done for cover of issue which came out in Feb. 1957. Edges have a few pencil crop marks and the actual printed cover doesn't have as much art as this original. Bit of wear around margin edges but main image area will mat and frame to near Exc. appearance. One of just seven painted covers in the entire "Joe Palooka" series.
