Item Description
Art is pen and ink preliminary for 1974 Doubleday book club edition of "Swords of Mars & Synthetic Men of Mars" interior illustration. 11.75x12.25" archival art board has 5.75x6.5" opening revealing India ink art of John Carter standing in front of semi-nude woman. Art is signed in ink at upper right "Frazetta © 72". Most of right side is full of pinpoint black ink dots, likely from the artist trying to loosen his pen nib. Trace of lt. under drawing here and there. Art itself is Fine/VF. The more tightly drawn finished illustration was captioned "Her Veiled Eyes Seemed To Read My Very Soul". A well drawn example by the legendary master of fantasy art.
