Item Description
6x8" matte finish photo shows Dean in full uniform wearing glove about to throw ball. Reverse side has News Service ink stamp for Acme and N.E.A. and is dated June 18 and applied paper caption has date of June 9. Caption text includes "A New Suit For Ol' Dizz. Dizzy Dean Back From The Big Time To The Texas League, Which He Left Nine Years." Photo image has a bit of added white and black color touch-ups as done for printing purposes. Fine. Dean had a 13 year baseball career in the Major League between 1930 and 1947 was the last NL pitcher to win 30 games in one season. His career included a win-loss record of 150-83 with an ERA of 3.02 and 1,163 strikeouts. He was elected to the Baseball HOF in 1953. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
