Item Description
December 10, 1950. 17x24" art board has 11 India ink panels drawn by Chad Grothkopf. Top panel has strange Clarabell-like birds sitting on nests on mountaintops honking. Storyline has Clarabell following Howdy and being swooped up by one of the birds. Howdy follows them to mountaintop and is surprised to see strange bird hugging Clarabell and honking as Howdy laughs. Title logo is a printed photostat as made, top panel has 1950 calendar which has large glue stain in center. Fifth panel has small stain from missing word balloon correction. Most of image area is overall Fine/VF and complete with 1950 United Features Syndicate copyright sticker. Unsigned. Writers included Edward Kean and Stan Lee. The strip ran until June 21, 1953.
