Wonderful illustrations throughout include giant elephant Big Liz with people sitting on her back, image of great animal arena, boxing kangaroo, man-eating tiger, female tamer and her "Blood-Thirsty Leopards And Jaguars", and a few animals attacking each other. Paper covers have a few lt. handling creases with bit of wear along spine and tiny nick at lower right corner tip. VG overall. Bostock was a pioneer in his field and his book "The Training Of Wild Animals" is still available today. He began his career in England in 1866 and was one of the first to exhibit boxing kangaroos. His animal arena operated at Dreamland in Coney Island and he almost lost his arm twice to wild cats during his legendary career. Superbly illustrated throughout.
